18th, 2008.
Sportsfest is an annual February mid-winter celebration providing activities for all ages. It is a city-wide, family-friendly, community event that attracts participants from across Niagara. The Mayor’s Cup hockey tournament, indoor volleyball, family skating, ball hockey and trivia night are just some of the events that are routinely offered to the general public.
The objective of Sportsfest is to promote Port Colborne, leisure activities, sportsmanship, community spirit and pride. Events take place at a number of parks and recreational facilities throughout the City of Port Colborne, and bring together local businesses, families and members of the community in support of local charities.

The 9th Annual Sportsfest Celebrity Evening, Card Show and Auction
The Celebrity Evening kicks off the start of Sportsfest on Friday February 15th, 2008 at 5pm at .
This year, our guest of honour is Leaf Legend Wendel Clark!
Mark Hebscher has once again been commissioned to act as host and Master of Ceremonies. Only Platinum ticket holders will be able to have dinner with confirmed guests Wendel Clark, Hebscher and other VIP’s.
Platinum ticket holders are entitled to attend the exclusive 5:00 pm dinner and also the activities at Roselawn, including the live interview with Wendel Clark. Features of the event will include Hockey Hall of Fame displays and Interactive Games, Marketplace [Silent Auction items and Card Dealers], Complimentary Hors D’oeuvres, Live Interview in theatre. Roselawn will open its doors to Gold ticket holders at 5:00 pm, with access to the above attractions, but excluding the meal.
Wendel Clark will make a brief visit to the marketplace, which will be located in the Heritage portion of the Roselawn centre. Guests will have an opportunity to meet & purchase an autographed photo, and bid on
auction items. Between 8:15 and 8:30 all ticket holders will be seated in the theatre. Mark Hebscher will take the stage to show Hebsy Awards and introduce Clark. Hebscher will interview Clark for approximately 40
minutes, and then facilitate an open Q and A with Clark & the audience. This will finish between 9:30 and 10:00 pm. Guests will then have a final opportunity to bid on auction items before the night concludes.
Tickets will be sold to this event at a Platinum and Gold level, and will be available through the Roselawn Box Office. Prices include GST.

A portion of net revenues from the Celebrity Evening will once again benefit youth minor sports in the community, by raising money through the auction of donated and consigned item of sports memorabilia.
