Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Port Colborne’s Santa Claus Parade, held every year on the first Saturday of December, is an evening event that marks the beginning of the Christmas season, and an opportunity for families to watch Old Saint  Nicholas rolling into Port Colborne in time for the holidays. Hundreds of people line the 60 minute parade route at night to watch the seemingly endless number of colourful floats lit up with Christmas lights.

Hosted by the Port Colborne Economic & Tourism Development Corporation, the evening Santa Claus Parade is set to begin at 6:30 pm at the City of Port Colborne Public Works yard located at 11 King Street. The parade will continue north on West Street to Clarence Street, turning West on Clarence Street and continuing to Steele Street; north on Steele Street to Elgin Street and turning east. The parade will conclude at Port Colborne High School. The Snata & Mrs. Claus reception will now take place at The Roselawn Centre where everyone is invited to join us for hot chocolate and treats, and the children can have their photo taken with Santa and Mrs Claus.

On Sunday December 2nd, from 12:00pm - 4:00pm,  visit the Port Colborne Historical & Marine Museum and join them for their annual "Grand Old Christmas" Festival. Traditional roasted chestnuts, hot cider and caramel apples will tempt you as you stroll the Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum's Heritage buildings looking for Santa and his helpers near the open fire. Heritage activities such as printing, log sawing, candle dipping and Arabella's pudding and sauce couple with live music by Paul and Diane and St. James and St. Brendan's choir to create an unforgettable experience as the horse-drawn carriage rounds the block.

Saturday December 14th, 2007 kicks off the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in Port Colborne. Enjoy Moonlight Madness in the downtown business area and along historic West Street, making it the perfect opportunity to pick up those special Christmas gifts!
